You don’t need to be a Spielberg, nor do you need to spend a fortune on the latest high tech equipment to look good online – but if you want to stand out from the crowd you will need to purchase some basic pieces of equipment.

The key lesson from all of this – is that you must tell the truth, and you need to provide your target audience with real reasons to believe any claims you make. It’s one thing to make a claim, but you need to be able to back it up.

However, it is inexcusable for someone who fits your target customer profile to say “No” to you and walk/click on by, because they don’t understand what your personal brand stands for, when you are in fact the perfect solution for their needs.

Many people are too cautious when it comes to presenting their personal brand. If you use bland, generic words and statements to describe who you are and what you do – you will not cut through the clutter!

Imagine an archery target with a bull’s-eye in the center. Think of your target audience as being the center of your marketing bull’s-eye. They are who you picture in your mind when you design your product or service, or create your online personal brand.

Remember the rule for marketing success – “Delight the few to attract the many”.
