The year is quickly coming to an end and what a year it has been for She Takes on the World! Over the past three years we have been on a mission to promote the amazing accomplishments of women and inspire others to create their own careers and set big, bold goals. One of the ways we’ve done this is through our annual Women of the Year. After three months of assembling this post and getting a record number of nominations this year for the women who inspired you in 2010, I’m pleased to present the Wonder Women, our Women of the Year:

Ali Brown

When Ali left corporate America to start her own business, she struggled as so many entrepreneurs do. With less than $20 in her bank account, Ali didn’t give up and it paid off. She is now a highly successful entrepreneur with a growing empire. Best of all, she’s mentoring women and showing them how they can achieve success too.

There are many large publications that publish an annual Women of the Year list and I’m always disappointed when I see the lists populated with female celebrities and women who already have a very high profile, not to say these women haven’t had notable accomplishments. She Takes on the World Women of the Year pays tribute to a diverse group of women ranging from teachers to social innovators to entrepreneurs. These are women we have been inspired by this year in our every day lives. They may not be celebrities -although some of them are well on their way -but one thing is for sure: these bold, fearless women are taking on the world.
