Thanks for sharing your story, Coree. I do believe that treating people with respect and showing common courtesy can break down barriers. A lot of the “shy” entrepreneurs I’ve met are really just afraid of rejection. Still, there are people who are deathly afraid of confrontation, approaching people, and public speaking -necessary parts of being the face of your brand.

It’s funny how you mention being shy. Most of my life I have considered myself shy up until I realized that I talk to EVERYBODY everywhere I go! I mean, I am picking up conversations with customer service people in call centers like I knew them forever. Now I use my communication skills to talk about my business and promote my brand. I think if we all just treat people as equals, and realize we all respond to a smile, that shyness disappears. Awesome post!!
