At the beginning of January I wrote a post about setting goals and visualizing success (read it here) for yourself and your business. One of the tools I use to visualize success is a vision board. A vision board is a collage of pictures and words that represent your dreams and goals. It is a way of manifesting your dreams using a key principle of the law of attraction -that your thoughts and what you surround yourself with become your reality.
This is my most recent vision board:
There are dreams for both me and my business on my vision board. The blank space is because I continually add to it throughout the year. I want to continue to grow my business, make money doing what I love, and help young entrepreneurs to start businesses through Garage Entrepreneurs. The picture of Wall St. represents my goal to grow my stock portfolio and take advantage of low ‘buy’ prices this year. There are also pictures of places I want to go because I always need to incorporate adventure and travel into my life. Last, there are pictures that represent my philanthropy dreams and my desire to continue educational and entrepreneurship projects I started working. One of my favorite pictures on my vision board is in the top left corner. It is a picture of girls of all ages with different skin colors, body types, and hair and eye colors wearing t-shirts that say, “We are beautiful.” I want to empower and inspire girls to believe in themselves and continue to promote my message of true beauty shining from the inside out.
Christine Spencer, a certified life coach and the founder of Girltime Coaching sent me her vision board. She recommends that you “take time and go over your vision board daily as a reminder of your “ideal life” and intentions.” This is Christine’s vision board:
Darlene Siddons from Spirited Boutique introduced me to a new type of vision board that her company creates for clients -a video. I think this is a really neat idea. This is Darlene’s video vision board:
Get out the scissors, magazines, and glue (or video editing software) and make a collage of what you want to have, where you want to go, and who you want to be.
